Biography:

Eric N. Swensen, D.O. was born and raised in South Central Idaho in the Magic Valley. He grew up the second youngest of eight siblings learning the value of hard work while employed in his father's grocery store as a youth. Though his parents never graduated from college themselves, they emphasized academic achievement, integrity, and doing one's best both inside and outside of the classroom. Upon graduating with honors from Minico High School in Rupert, ID he attended Idaho State University (ISU) in Pocatello, ID with an academic scholarship. He served a volunteer religious mission to Barcelona, Spain for two years, and then continued his pre-medical studies afterwards at ISU. He achieved the Dean's Honor List multiple times, graduating with honors with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish while also fulfilling his pre-medical requirements. Dr. Swensen also met his wife who was attending nursing school at ISU.

In 2005, Dr. Swensen moved to Kansas City, MO where in 2009 he earned his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Kansas City University of Medicine and Biosciences - College of Osteopathic Medicine. He then moved to Fort Wayne, IN where he had been accepted into the Fort Wayne Medical Education Program family medicine residency in 2009 and graduated in 2012.

Afterwards, Dr. Swensen moved to Wyoming with his wife and family and worked in a family medicine clinic for three years at the local hospital, freelancing in the emergency department when he was not on call. He then transitioned over to work full-time in the Evanston Regional Hospital emergency department for 5 years as a managing partner.



Dr. Swensen has lived in Evanston, WY with his wife and family for the past 10 years and has a wide range of experience both in clinical family medicine and emergency medicine. He believes strongly that ‘exercise is medicine’ and encourages and helps his patients to be as physically active as possible in their own lives. Maintaining a healthy blood pressure, cholesterol levels, and weight is a focus in his medical practice.

Dr. Eric N. Swensen's hobbies include taking his family to see and do fun things throughout the region in including hiking, museums, planetariums, zoos, Olympic villages, historical sites, etc. He also personally enjoys snow skiing, playing tennis, and listening to audio books.??
